Pane'e Mua Project
Pane'e mua is a Hawaiian phrase, meaning to progress forward, one move at a time. In 2010, when NNEF identified a need for community and adult education in East Hawai'i, especially for individuals seeking a High School diploma, we developed a project to address the issue, providing educational opportunities that would allow for supported and steady progression forward. In the Fall of 2010, NNEF's Pane'e Mua Project was granted three years of funding from the Administration for Native Americans (ANA) to provide a comprehensive High School diploma and community learning program with workforce preparedness, life skills, and Native Hawaiian cultural components to East Hawai'i's Native Hawaiian community.
In our GED/C-Based High School diploma courses we will be directly assisting Native Hawaiians in meeting high school diploma requirements. We will also be providing additional mandatory life skills, work force preparedness, and Hawaiian culture classes to our High School diploma students.
The Pane'e Mua Project will also provide quarterly general community education classes and workshops based on the needs and interests of the East Hawai'i Native Hawaiian Community.
All Pane'e Mua Project programs are FREE!!! For more information, to sign-up, or to contact us please call (808)769-0060.
